Jetpack Jones: Brow and Neck

Image
As I'm progressing with this project I am finding it a bit easier, especially around fixing the vertices and re-sculpturing the face. I still need to spend a bit of time editing the face and the neck as it is a bit lumpy looking and he does look a bit tired from where the vertices are a bit close together around the eye, but so far I am very happy with how this is coming together.

Maya: Moom Weightlifting

Image
Continuing on with Moom I am still getting used to adding in all the extra pauses and delays but only in the assigned frames which I am finding difficult because I find that I have a way In which I add in delays and pauses, but its in the keys that I feel the animations needs it, rather than ones that have been assigned to me. However I am learning and I feel this animation is coming together, although I do still need to make some improvements because of the keyframes I had to delete again to make this animation correct. We are also still working in the graft editor which I don't find too hard, although I would like some feedback about I am using it correctly.

Collaboration: Set and Prop Design Experiment

Set Render With Moom Figure  Set Render with Added Prop 2D Basketball Uv Design I decided to continue on with experimenting with the design for the set, especially looking at how the 2D interactive props will play on set and look so I decided to start off by doing a quick design for the basketball that will be used by Michael Jordan in his skit and just firstly seeing how big it would need to be to appear on camera and also how the rough texture would be perceived from such a long distance. Looking at the render I am happy with how it appears and I feel that the audience will be able to see and recognise it from a distance. The second bit I did was importing one of the Moom figures and scaling and playing with the camera distance to see how well they will show up n the screen, this did lead to me needing to change the camera distance and we might need to extent the rest of the set to compensate for the opening shot, however so far I am still comfortable with how it appea

Jetpaack Jones: The Nose

Image
Managed to complete the nose a lot faster than I though and along with the rest of the face I am happy with how its turning out so far. I think the face is starting to replicate the one on the orthographs at his point and I'm excited to carry on and start finishing it off, but at some point I also need to edit the face, especially in the gap between the eye and the nose as I can see a crease starting to form and its making the model look a bit tired.

Character Design: Faces and Expressions

Image
For this lesson we looked at expressions and faces and how, combined with poses it can help express a character and how their emotions link with their personalities. This lesson I struggled with the expressions, especially when applying them to objects like the handbag and the monkey because i couldn't managed to express the emotion well enough and find a creative way to tie it into the object to give it come character, but this I feel was a good learning curve and now I understand how to achieve this I feel I can use it on future projects if I need to.

JetPack Jones: Editing The Eye

Image
At this point with Jetpack jones I'm feeling a bit more confident after I got my model checked by Alan, and have managed to finish the eye and am ready to move onto the nose and progress further with the model. I am still a bit worried that I'm making tram lines again with the edge loops, especially where the lines are getting thinner but in an attempt to get the model finished on time I think I will try and move forward so I can make improvements later on when I have a bit more time and I can see the model coming along a bit more. But at this point I'm not too worried about his face as it is still too early at this point too see where I am going completely wrong.

Collaboration: Set Prop Designs

Basketball Hoop Prop Design  Mat Prop Design  Basketball Prop Design Continuing on with the set design, I wanted to try and test out the props that would go in the world and help to re-enforce its concept. I tried to keep this constant by putting the designs on boards and painting them roughly to make it feel more home made and childish, as we wanted the room itself to be designed for the children ready for the talent show so I tried to portray the objects enough so they are recognisable but not put too much design or detail into them to show that they are made by children. So far with the designs I am happy with how they have turned out, however at this point we might wan to think about how to make the designs look more like boards, maybe by adding on supports or a wood texture underneath, and also with props like the basketball we want to try and come up with a few designs so the props still look 2D and designed, but still work for the skits they are meant to be supportin

Collaboration: School Set Design 01

Test Rendered Set and Props  Test Set Render  Test Set Desgin Set Side Wall Design Set Floor Design Set Back Wall Design Leading up to transferring our project onto Maya, I decided to try and prepare a test render and design of the school sports hall on Maya, to see how it might turn out in a 3D layout and start thinking about different ways we could improve it. Initially I wanted to have the images be projected onto the 3 image planes and rendered from there however I found that they didn't show up in the render view so I had to thin and stretch out four cubes and project the wall designs on the Uv's, which I felt has done a good job at creating the set like appearance we are going for. I also wanted to try and see how the props, such as the basketball hoop and the mat would look and so far I am also happy with the effect they are creating within the set, and I think it helps to amplify the world we are trying to project, which is also why I also dec
