Script to Screen: Influence Maps 01

Image
Decided to start by making some influence maps of my objects before I make some for my characters and explore a bit more into some of the themes I would like to carry over. I think I will keep the tone of the animation a bit dark, maybe even make the animation black and white to suit the themes of the prison. I also think at this point I will set the animation in modern day to make it easier, although I have also considered setting it in the future as well to make the diet pills and the extreme work out more believable.

Adobe Animate: Snowball Throw Animation

Image
For this workshop we had to animate throwing a snowball, using only our understanding of the movement and poses as reference. I found this animation easier than the ret although, I think I could of have animated the rest of the body after the snowball was thrown, as well as make the pose more powerful, as the actual throw doesn't work as well compared to  when I practiced it myself.

Adobe Audition: Sound Mix Experiment

Image
For this workshop we had to find a sound and experiment with it and mix up some other sounds. For mine I found a simple, peaceful song and mixed that before layering it with different sounds and instruments. For this version I like how it turned out, but think I could make a few changes/ experiment with making it a more consistent song rather than just a splice of other, smaller songs.

Character Design: Posture and Action

Image
For this workshop, we got assigned characters with recognisable actions (so I got an archer) and we had to draw them, using an action line to determine what they are doing and then use that to change up the gender and size of the character while keeping the characters action the same. I enjoyed this lesson, although struggled with portraying the archer effectively at first, because the position is so rigid, I struggled to make it look dramatic and also static at the same time. Then I got assigned an action and then a character, so for this I got a sprinting gladiator, which I struggled with because I used a pose for the sprinting motion, but tried to exaggerate it and ended up struggling to keep the exaggeration and the realism of the sprint ( so I couldn't get the opposite leg and arm movement right without it making the pose look slow) so I ended up restarting the image, but not completing a full sprinting gladiator pose.

Script to Screen: Script Draft 01

First draft of my script. I'm still worried it might be a bit too big, so some feedback on the length of the script would be appreciated as well as feedback on the plot again.

Character Design: Animals

Image
For this lesson we designed animals, looking at there characteristics and shapes to draw them accurately, before combining them to make hybrids that would suit their environment and the animals they are. I got assigned a rhino first, and looked at how to portray its round, but tough body, then I had to portray a rhino/ tiger hybrid, which at first I tried to make it more bulky like the rhino but got told to make it more stealthy for the tiger. Finally I got assigned to make hybrid animals for a swamp, which I mostly looked at predators, such as hornbills and snapping turtles.

Script to Screen: Story Edit 01

After some food feedback I finally edited through my second idea to make it more understandable. Feedback would still be appreciated on the structure and the length of the story, but I have changed some of the conflict and tried to make the story more consistent in some ways.
