Adobe Animate; Characterising the balls

Image
Experimented with characterising the animated bouncy balls we did last week, so I experimented with adding ears, a tail and a face to differentiate the animations. Although I like how they came out, I do wish that I had added colour or made the balls bolder so I can see them better as they are a bit small and indistinguishable. Maybe next time I should try and use the brush tool and try and make the designs more interesting.

Invisible Cities Update: Moriana

Image
For this design and per my feed back on my OGR, I decided to look at Art Nouveau in its different forms, while still however keeping the two contradicting cities in mind. These two moldboards are only a brief idea on what I want to concentrate on, as I feel I can find some more interesting pieces within the monuments that can support my city. I have taken in mind the coral like architecture and flower like structuring, while also trying to find pieces to support the text- such as the medusa chandelier and the abundance of alabaster, which will maintain the cities pastel like colour scheme on the open side. Within the hidden face, I wanted to start looking at a more Gothic side pf Art Nouveau, while still maintaining the abandoned idea that I had before. The contrast between the cities is very important, however I still feel I need to explore an alternate route for Morianas hidden face, as in the black and white thumbnails I fear the contrasts might look a bit too similar to tell

Invisible Cities: Sophriana

Image
One of the Thin cities, despite its interesting concept I actually struggled to compose an interesting concept design for Sophriana, because I couldn't design an interesting enough platform to hold both the normal Sophriana and the roller coaster festival at the same time. However, I did enjoy drawing it and coming up with different, extreme contrasts of the two sides of the city.

Invisible Cities: Ersilia

Image
One of the trading cities, I didn't end up producing as much concept art for Ersilia because I found the description of the string and the buildings difficult to compose without it looking messy. I did enjoy imagining the area, using tents as a way of explaining the cities un permanent concept and abandoned remains.

Invisible Cities: Diomira

Image
One of the cities and memories, Diomira was the city that I originally started with and composed digitally, but I also struggled with. The Photoshop design, ended up taking me so long that I decided to switch permanently to pencil compositions to save time, which I ended up find a lot easier and therefore enjoyable to draw this.

Invisible Cities: Fedora

Image
One of the cities and desire, Fedora was the city that I defiantly had the most trouble designing and composing. This is because of its limited description of the outer concept of the city and the overly long description of the other, personal cities within the glass balls. I did manage to compose a city that I'm satisfied with, concentrating specifically on the dark, grim city rather then the personal cities as I felt it was more important.

Invisible Cities: Phylis

Image
One of the cities and eyes, Phyllis was on of the cities I had the most fun drawing as well, as I found the simple bridge and canal concept simple to compose, while also having fun designing the different bridges to represent different parts of the city. The one problem I did have with the city was the overall compositions, as the long canals made it difficult for me to portray the layout and overall composition of the city effectively.

Invisible Cities: Zenobia

Image
One of the thin cities, Zenobia was defiantly one of the easiest to draw and compose thumbnails for, however I don't think I will be continuing to adapt the city as I don't feel I have a personal enough collection to the city to want to continue adapting it.
