Jetpack Jones: Adding Extra Face Movement

Image
Finished the first tutorial on the third face rigging tutorial set and I am finding this so far a lot easier than the last set of tutorials. I am happy with how the animation on the face is coming together, along the placement and connection of the controls and I feel that hopefully these few last rigging and skinning face tutorials I will be able to get through a lot faster because of that.

MudBox: MudBox Lighting - Finish.

Edit Material Ambient Occlusion  Cavity Ambient Occlusion View with Textures  Tonemapper Depth of Field Turntable Finished the MudBox tutorials and managed to get a turntable rendered and overall I think I have done a good job with how it turned out, considering the devices I was working with. I do think the texturing for the model could do with some improvements, but for a first try I am happy with how it has turned out and also that the turntable works as well.

Overall I am finding the tutorials themselves relatively straightforward and easy, although I am struggling with some of the texture applications and I think that especially now, the model is starting to look a bit messy and strange, because of some of the liberties I have had to take in order to continue moving forward. I think I am getting the hang of this so far and especially after these few tutorials I feel a bit more confident using Mud

Premise: Character Design Update

Image
I decided to try and explore some possible character development, by designing some possible outfits and styles for the main character of my project; Drew. I decided to look at a range of styles, as although I was leaning towards a more simple and comfortable look for them, I decided that I wanted to see if any other design's might also work, which did happen in the case of the second character design I picked, which I decided to combine with a brown hair style and simplify the curls, because I still want the character to be easy enough to model in Maya. I also wanted to see how the design would fit in some concept art, so I decided to also draw that and see if the colours of the outfit ere too dull or bright against the warm orange and dark shadows I want the scene to have.

Jetpack Jones: Adding Cheek Thinning

Image
Finally finished part two of facial rigging by adding. cheek thinning onto my model so when the jaw CTRL is moved then the model would look more natural when it opened. I found this process easy and now I feel that my model is ready to move onto finally finishing the final rigging elements of the tutorials.
