Toolkit 02: Reflective Statement

Unlike Premise, I have had a better time managing and finishing toolkit 02 because I started earlier in the year and was able to get some of the heavier and more complicated elements out of the way, but at the cost I think to some of my other projects.  I think, from last year I was able to manage toolkit 02 a lot easier by getting the work out of the way as fast as I could, which also was how I approached Jetpack Jones, as I knew I wanted to try and finish the tutorials in term time, so I could better understand how long the process would take and if I could feasibly do it for third year. This is also why I also rushed and made a lot of mistakes when I was finally able to finish the model. I am a mixture of happy and also underwhelmed about the outcome of my model, because I was able to finish what I set out to do, however the issues that currently plague the model, such as the obvious thinning on the cheeks and the lack of detail on the suit due to problems I had transferring t

Mudbox: Lemon Completed

Image
After creating the model last night, I decided to add on a few improvements, such as some dents into the model to make it less neat and roughing up the model so it didn't look to even. I did want to add an extra feature, like a stick and a leaf on the lefthand side, however Mudbox on my computer wouldn't allow me to edit and colour more than one object without it glitching, so I had to settle with just the lemon model itself. I am happy with how the model looks, and the fact that I managed to make it just using a sphere, although I would like to try my hand at making something more difficult on a computer that could handle the software better.

Mudbox: Lemon Model 01

After I completed the goblin on Mudbox I now moved onto trying to create my own model in Mudbox. I decided to start by making a lemon to experiment with making something in Mudbox on my own, and seeing how I would be able to use the different tools and stencils to try and create the skin and the colour of the lemon. I might try and apply more texture and effects onto the lemon to make it more visually interesting, and looking at the top image, I think at this point the model doe need some tweaking as it is a bit wonky.
