Premise: Character and World Mind-Maps

After watching a bunch of animated shorts, I decided to start making these mood-boards to get a better idea of what I want my story to be as well as the character that in habits it. To make the story and the character physically tell the story rather than using dialogue I'm leaning more towards the idea of the character and the room being new, so maybe the character moves around and so they are used to being in new rooms, but not sleeping in them, so the room and the character both have a strong personality, either with the room being old and previously inhabited or new and barren, which I will expand more when I come up with the story for the project, but so far I am leaning on those two ideas, because it allows me to be more creative with the character design and explore colour and lighting in the environment design as well. This lesson we did more short timed drawings, so I decided to continue to do more blind, continuous line drawing because I felt it was the best way to capture the form of the line and also make the drawings more interesting as well. We also had to expand the drawing near the end of the session, using the pose to create a scene and a character, so with mine I decided to go with a homeless man for the first one, because I felt the pose was deflated and weak almost, while the second one I decided to go with a man holding a flag, because I felt the pose was heroic and strong.
