Jetpack Jones: Skull Cap Added

Image
After finally adding on the skullcap I can start to see the head coming together and now I am ready to start improving and cleaning it now all the pieces are in place. One of the main areas I need to improve are the faces themselves as at the moment they are not neat, especially around the eyes which is giving the model a tired look and the lips, because I need to close them and round them off further. The head I also feel is still a bit on the skinny side so I might also try and fatten it out a bit so it looks more full, but overall I am happy with it now and feel more comfortable cleaning and taking my time with the face before moving onto the body.

Collaboration: Final Set Render

Image
After taking small adjustments and discussing it with my team, we have finally managed to come up with a final design for the hall where the talent show will take place. The designs are messy as we wanted the set to look like it was designed by the children themselves, which is why none of the designs are neat, and why even the school logo is messy as well, to emphasise this I also made a brush out of Mooms hands and used that on the back wall to show that the walls are meant to be messily painted. I also changed the colour of the back wall, because I felt that, along with the hands the wall looked like a murder scene, so I changed it to green, the other colour of the Atypical Academy and I think it brightens up the set more and allows the character to stand out better. Looking at this I feel that the walls and the signs nee to be less shiny, but overall i don't think we will need to make anymore changes to the set and we can now focus more on the characters and their outfits.

Collaboration: Scene Render with all Props

Image
Weights  Toy  Microphone and Stand  Keyboard  Spoons  Sheet Dynamite  Managed to finishing adding the shaders to the Uv's on the props while also improving the set as I went along. The props are designated to each character for their performance and I tried to keep them similar to the set, by using the same brush and messy colouring in that I have done on the set. I am happy with how they have turned out, especially since they are all 2D and I had to try and show their shape and design only using a flat ploy plane.

Moom Weightlifting: Finishing off the Scene

Coming to the end of making and improving the weightlifting in class I still feel like I need to make more improvements on my one, as although I'm flowing all the steps I feel like my animation s missing some of the beats because of the extra key frames and added and then had to delete over the past lessons, so I think the animation is making its way to being done, I just need to clean it up and figure out where I want to go with it to improve it further, in terms of how the character moves and responds to the different ways it lifts the weights.

JetPack Jones: Throat and Brow

Image
Continuing on I managed to get the throat and the brows done on the model and am ready to finish the head before I need to start cleaning it up a lot so it looks a lot nicer, as despite the fact that I'm happy with the model it still needs a lot of cleaning to make it look smother. I have had the model checked over again, so I understand a bit more of what I need to do to achieve this before I move onto modelling the body.

Character Design: Aztecs and Space Dog

Image
Continuing on with the astronauts, we had to also add on a companion for the main character and design them to suit and also contrast them to fit into the story. For mine I deiced to create a dog, because they were one of the first animals to be sent into space in the 60's, so I thought it would be appropriate to create a space dog for the American astronaut, that follows the pair around and also helps to defeat the space robot. At this point I'm still deciding on the breed and his uniform, but I think its coming together slowly, but overall I am happy with how the other designs are coming along.

Life Drawing

Image
I enjoyed this lesson a lot and feel like I'm starting to get into the flow of the different styles of how I draw depending on how much time we have and what I want to concentrate on, so for the quicker ones I think I prefer continuous line and blind drawings because I can capture the outline well enough, whereas in the longer poses I try and go more detailed, especially now I'm trying to capture the face as well as perviously I felt that it was pulling away from the pose and not showing fully how the model is feeling.

Collaboration: Scene Render with Symbol Change

Image
Because of the issue with the symbol and a talk with my teammate we decided to try and see how the symbol would look on the side walls or the floor to make the scene more interesting and not over crowd the back wall with too much information. Looking at the two images, I like the scene where the logo is on the floor, but I want to improve it more by pulling in the symbol more as I feel its too big and taking up the screen to much.

Collaboration: Scene Render with Props

Image
Continuing on with the set I started to install and set up some of the props to see how the scene would play out and also if I need to change anything before we start animating. At this point looking at the last image I think I might get rid of one of the symbols on the wall, either the smaller one to make room on the wall to make the sign bigger, or the one between the text to make the text more coherent and the sign look more and made, but overall I'm happy with how its turning out overall.

JetPack Jones: Eye and Cornea

Image
Managed to create and install the new eye and cornea and place it in the same place as the old eye. At this point I still feel the head needs a lot of improvement and clean up, especially on the cheeks and the lips that I'm struggling to get to look correctly, so I am going to get it looked at and improved while also continuing on with the videos so I don't fall behind again.
