Premise: 3D Light Practise 02 (Portable Light Experiment)

Image
After some more experimenting with the light I decided to a just the colour on the glass and the lights to make it a bit warmer, while also adjusting the strength of the light so it didn't cast such a harsh shadow which I did by getting rid of the bottom light and only having two. I then decided to import it into the simplified room I made, just to see how the light would appear and cover the space. At first I found the light to be too harsh, so I had to reduce both of the lights, having the top one be strong than the bottom light until I found the strength I liked. The last two images I think will be the ones I will use, with the second to last one being the strength for the middle of the story when the light decreases and the last one being at the beginning when its at its strongest.

3D Light Model Light Design  Light Edit with Point Light Light Exposure Increased  Three Point Lights Spotlight Only  Spotlight and Pointlight  I have started experimenting with creating an effective portable light in Maya. I managed to model the glass cover and the base using a cylinder and a sphere polygon primitive and just looking at the model alone I am happy with what it looks like, however I am having issues trying to get the light itself to look the way I want. For this I have tried experimenting on my own, tweaking a few of the light and the glass settings to get the light to come through and I ma happy with how the glass and the light look, especially on the warm tone which is what I want from this and looking at it I feel it does portray a portable light effectively. The first few renders I just wanted to experiment with seeing how the glass appeared on its own and how strong the light was, then when ...

Premise: Storyboards

These are the storyboards that I have so far for my Premise project. At this point I know that I still need to do a lot of re-writing for the story as there are a lot of patchy areas that I feel need work, however I am happy with some of the ideas and camera shots I have in this first draft, as well as having the core concept and idea down so I can move forward onto progressing it. Edit: Please Read Storyboards from Right to Left

Moom: IK / FK and Further Animation Clean Up

Image
Improved on the animation as best as a I can at this point and then also tried to apply the IK / FK switch although I am having trouble making the switch look seamless along the elbow of the model. I have already done the button just on the FK switch on the model, but I still would like to try and make the switch seamless on the IK, so I will use the first one on standby, incase I cannot get the elbow switch to work properly.
