Moom: Expressions Animation (Realistic and Exaggerated)

Image
Exaggerated Expressions   Realistic Expressions Video This lesson we had to animate a set of expressions onto Moom, with the first trying to replicate the expressions to the video as close as possible and then the second being to try and exaggerate and animate it to suit your own style. For my animation I had fun trying to replicate the animation on the video, especially on the more subtle, smaller ones where I had to look closer and try and figure out what was changing as the video progressed, making the outcome more enjoyable. I also enjoyed exaggerating the expressions as well, and I might come back and add on another, more extreme animation as I feel I could take the expressions a bit further, but at this point I'm happy with what I made.

Jetpack Jones: Skinning Jones

Image
Finished Skinning Jones at this point, and am happy with how it has turned out so feel confident to move onto adding pose space deformers onto the torso and see how the model takes to that as well. The only main issues I have been having at this point are seeing how the skin weights take on the smoothed model and editing them because Maya keeps crashing, but at this point I don't think its an issue because of how the weights are doing at this point, and I'm happy with how the model moves, but I will try and get it fixed in case any issues crop up in the future.

Premise: Initial Drawings and Ideas Development.

Image
After some feedback on some ideas for my Premise project I decided to make some initial drawings for two of my concept ideas, at this point I'm leaning more heavily towards one idea, but thinking about taking other themes and ideas from the other to make it more interesting. The two ideas revolve around one person, with one leaning more on mental health and involving a character becoming so overwhelmed to the point of "drowning" while the other is more of a Beetlejuice / Ghostbusters idea that had evolved from some previous ideas I came up with, with the Beetle-Juice one being the one I'm more interested in because I think I can do more with the themes and the tone, but I will see how the further feedback on the idea takes the project forward.

Jetpack Jones: Ribbon Spine and Joint Skeleton

Image
Managed to complete the joints for the body and the ribbon spine, as well as bind the skin to the model as well to start skinning the weights to it. At this point I'm happy with how this is going and although struggled to keep up with the ribbon joins and the intricate connecting and parenting process, feel confident with how it has all come together and have checked to see that it is all connected together.
