Fantastic Voyage: Finch Model 03

Image
Using the other Finch models I managed to make the curved wing that would act as the third pose for the character in the scene. I made it by using the out stretched wing form the other model, and deleted some of the faces so I could re shape them to the orthograph and then bridge them back together. I don't know yet how I'm going to ride the transition from the side ways wing from the folded one, so I might have to re-do the side ways wing so it matches more with this one and can be rigged better.

Fantastic Voyage: Tree Model 02

Image
After some practice from the other tree design I have managed to finish the second one that I will be duplicating in my scene. Because I will be duplicating this and the other tree I decided to add a lot of branches to it, so when I duplicate it I can take away some of them to make them appear different in the background, I still have the leaves to add on the bottom branches, but so far I am happy with its design for a background prop.

Fantastic Voyage: MAYA Modelling Update

Image
I have started experimenting and modelling my Finch character, trying to maintain the round design I wanted to convey, while still making it look like a small bird. I have used a lot of circles for the body and head and plan to show a lot of its design in the texturing, at this point also I am considering animating its eyes in Adobe After Effects to save time, rather than in Maya, however it might appear strange next to the 3D animated mouth, so I'm going to keep them in Maya a this point until I have gathered feedback about it. The design still needs some polishing, especially around the beak where I need to design a hole and tongue for the mouth, but so far I am happy with it.    The wings are however the thing I have struggled the most with, at first I played out the design using a cube to see how I wanted the wings to look compared to the Finch, as for the end sequence I need another model of the Finch with its wings open so I can rig it taking off. After the layo...

Adobe Illustrate: Character Design, Colour and Attempted Shading

Image
Heres my Prepp monster design from learning how to use Adobe Illustrator. I found doing the line work more interesting then the shading, because I'm still not used to the tool or how to flip the shading over yet, so I do think I need more practice, but I think I might use it for line art for Orthographs or basic designs that require a neat outline.
