Wassily Kandinsky Influence Map 2

For this Influence map I decided to look at the idea of Synesthesia portrayed in art, as through some further research it is believed that my artists Kandinsky might of have experienced this, adding a new dynamic to his work that I could adapt to make it more my own. I decided to look at his work and contrast it against another example of Synesthesia (bottom left) within art and see how they differentiate. Because of this, I wanted to try and also consider the shape of the buildings I will create and have looked a buildings with a slightly or extremely warped appearance to capture the flow of music, while also taking into consideration my other influence map with the focus on colour as well. Wassily's style seems to be very bold and full of movement, so I'm hoping that portraying the building with a sense of movement themselves will help capture that aspect of his work.

Sound Experiment 04

 Today I decided to record some more natural sounds, this time seeing how the sound of wind would sound through a window before I recorded it outside, as I think the slight whistling noise through the window would make it sound more interesting, I am planning on collecting more natural sounds, but I wanted to see how it would sound before I progressed onwards in case the background noise was too much in comparison to the wind and ruined it.  For the second sound for my second image, I wanted to continue to find something more sharper so I tried to record the sound of cactus spikes, particularly if I ran my fingers through it, as it makes a very sharp, high pitched sound that I think could work better, especially if I could replicate the sound to reflect the more smaller portions of the image.  Lastly I wanted to try and collect a more electronic sound for image one, to match its sharp, electric colours so I wanted to start by recording a microwave, as I thought is humming noi

Premise: Room Design and Development

After finally deciding on a character design for the lead in my story, I decided to take that design and explore I will approach the environment where the story will be set. I wanted to look at making the room look very dull and also mismatched and dated to suit the juxtaposing feeling it has against Drew and how they feel being within the environment and how it feeds into their feeling of loneliness. I want ed to have an obvious focus toward the room looking old and not suited for Drew by looking at dated carpets and duvet designs to show how ill suited the room if for them, so I mainly focused on 50's patterned and designs. I also wanted to explore how I could structure the bed before finally comparing how I wanted the room to look colour wise.
