Character Design: Logo and Poster Designs

Company Logo: "Dinosaur Corporation"


 Film Poster 


 This lesson we focused on designs and putting a more simple design on objects to be used commercially, on the first one we had to come up with a logo for a fictional company and so I decided to design a logo for Dinosaur Corporation, a Jurassic Park like company where they work to bring Dinosaurs back to life for educational purposes, so I wanted to combine a Dinosaur skull with the DNA symbol to try and show off the companies main focus point and what they aim to do with it, while also keeping it stylish and simple to reach, which I think I ended up doing on the final designs for it. We also had to design a poster for an already existing film, so I decided to got for the film Nightcrawler because I felt it would be the easiest to design for, because of I feel the main themes of the film can be easily displayed in simple ways, which I think I achieved most strongly in the first on, with the camera filming the dead body.

Sound Experiment 04

 Today I decided to record some more natural sounds, this time seeing how the sound of wind would sound through a window before I recorded it outside, as I think the slight whistling noise through the window would make it sound more interesting, I am planning on collecting more natural sounds, but I wanted to see how it would sound before I progressed onwards in case the background noise was too much in comparison to the wind and ruined it.  For the second sound for my second image, I wanted to continue to find something more sharper so I tried to record the sound of cactus spikes, particularly if I ran my fingers through it, as it makes a very sharp, high pitched sound that I think could work better, especially if I could replicate the sound to reflect the more smaller portions of the image.  Lastly I wanted to try and collect a more electronic sound for image one, to match its sharp, electric colours so I wanted to start by recording a microwave, as I thought is humming noi

Premise: Room Design and Development

After finally deciding on a character design for the lead in my story, I decided to take that design and explore I will approach the environment where the story will be set. I wanted to look at making the room look very dull and also mismatched and dated to suit the juxtaposing feeling it has against Drew and how they feel being within the environment and how it feeds into their feeling of loneliness. I want ed to have an obvious focus toward the room looking old and not suited for Drew by looking at dated carpets and duvet designs to show how ill suited the room if for them, so I mainly focused on 50's patterned and designs. I also wanted to explore how I could structure the bed before finally comparing how I wanted the room to look colour wise.
