Moom Lip Synch: Eyebrows and Face Edit

Image
Moved onto adding in the tongue and smoothing the brows more so the facial movements add to the expression more. So far with these animations I still feel I need to smooth out the overall animation and improve on the brow movements a bit more so they feel more dynamic, but overall I am happy with bow this has turned out and feel ready to move on.

JetPack Jones: Creating Head Controls & An Eye Look Rig

Image
Finished creating the rig for the eyes and head and so far the process is still going smoothly with the rigs all working correctly on the head and as well as making the eyes and the head move in unison. I managed to create an eye control and a visibility control for the facial section of the body and am now ready to move onto making a flexible control rig for the mouth.

Lip Synch Moom: Adding Phoneme/Visemes

Image
After finishing the jaw bounce, I started moving onto adding phonemes and shaping the mouth more to suit the sentence, as well as making the project suit my own style by adding character to the rig via the eyebrows. So far I am still confident with how this process is going and am comfortable progressing onwards and improving the expressions and Mooms mouth, with the only exception being the way I animated the mouth regarding "O's" and that I'm leaning more on the way I pronounce words rather than how the audio is, which is making the lip synch off in some places, so I do need to improve that more, but apart from that I am happy with how this has turned out and am ready to move onto the next stage.

Jetpack Jones: Creating a Head Skeleton & Binding

Image
Started binding and skinning the head of my model and although I have run into some small issues regarding my modelling, I am happy with how it is progressing and feel more confident this time editing and animating the head compared to when I did this on the body. I do have somethings I need to go back and improve before I move on, but apart from that I am happy with how my Jetpack Jones is coming along.

Premise: The Babadook and Character Mind-Map

Image
Before I wanted to continue going forward with the story and the character for my project, I decided I wanted to re-watch and get some inspiration from the Babadook (2014). One reason for this was because I felt the film had a lot of similar themes and elements I wanted to explore within the film, mainly the ones regarding mental health and the usage of the home environment to compliment the horror elements. The film itself I enjoyed the set up and the characters and the way the film balances the horror factor with the child character, Samuel as it allows you to deiced for the majority of the film whether you believe in the Babadook, or think Samuel is lying by having the camera trained more strongly on the mother Amelia, and her mental health as the story progresses. I also liked the usage of shadows and how the environment complimented this, with the film seemingly not using a lot of CGI and effects to display the creature, and more relying on atmosphere and the dark to give a...
