Week 01: Maya Mushroom Squash and Stretch

Today we learned how to hook up controls using the Node editor to create a squash and stretched effect on a mushroom. I will admit I did have to re-do this a few times, as I was confused by the numbers and the adding and dividing element of the lesson, but I think after I have done this a few times I will eventually get the hang of this. 

JetPack Jones: Check Point Upload

This is how far I am with Jetpack jones. I have managed to get the body together and I just need to start with the UV's before I can start moving onto starting the skinning and rigging process. I am happy with how the model has turned out, although the face still could of have used some more tweaking and the Vertices could of have been neaten more, but at this point I just want to move on with the model and get it skinned and rigged.

Jetpack Jones: Boots

Finished modelling Jetpacks boots and applying them to the legs and so far this has been one of the easiest things to model on the body and although I still need to do some clean up, which I'm thinking I will end up doing at the end so I can spend more time on fixing it and understanding overall what I want to improve on the body I am happy with how this is coming a long and feel like I understand more about what's going on now. 

Jetpack Jones: Leg and Pelvis

Started on the legs and the pelvis and found this section of the modelling quite easy and simple, although I need to clean up the final model, and add in more detail around the legs and the pelvis area to make it look more realistic, but overall Im happy to move onto the boots after I have cleaned up the model a bit more.

Jetpack Jones: Torso and Arms

Started adding on arms and improving the neck on the model and so far I feel this is still going well, although I am starting to have some problems with triangles along the neck and bottom section of the torso which is making it difficult for me to add geometry and shape sections of the body well, so Im going to get the model looked at and see if I can get these problems sorted, but overall I feel this is going well and I am confident to move onto the legs.

Jetpack Jones: Starting the Torso

Started on the torso and already I'm feeling a lot more confident abut this then I was about the head and although its still early days at this point I feel that this is already starting to come together quiet nicely, I just need to make sure im up to date with clean up.

Lighting and Rendering: Displacement (Mushroom)

Because I struggled with the Dinosaur head I managed to finish this first because of how easy it was. Again I struggled with this, but not as much as the dinosaur head and after some practice on my own trying to do the process from memory I feel more comfortable doing this on my own.
